Re: [Harland] Searching Town

As he turned to leave the closet he almost bumped into a broad
shouldered man who had walked up behind him unnoticed.

"Thrash, I'm sure you're not going to find your master in there," he
said, though Thrash didn't recognize him at first, "and from what I've
heard, he's going to be leaving town... if we don't catch up with him
first."

Then Thrash remembered a name, Dorsey, Jerom's "boss" as it were. Jerom
didn't visit him very often, but the man usually knew what was going on.

Not so pleasant to see was the rough man Thrash had bitten earlier, who
was now standing in the doorway.

"Boss not leave town. Boss say he see you! This man " and here he points at the man he roughed up "and baker man try to hurt boss and keep boss in THIS closet! They say they know where boss is. Make bad men tell Thrash!... Boss not leave without Thrash!?"

Umm. Thrash is very confused. He's not too sure if Jerom is a good or bad guy. Boss keeps wanting to see him and the others keep telling him that Jerom wants to kill him. That inference about "if we don't catch up with him first" went entirely over Thrash's head, by the way. He thinks that maybe Boss was sent out of town and Thrash has to hurry if he wants to
go with him.
