Re: At Jerom's Manor

Thrash looks excited, then confused for a moment, then asks, "This letter. Is sound like EhSSsss or like eSSssSSSs or like eessSSSssshh? Say letter again!" As he asks the question, his forked toungue goes through some mysterious gyrations. You are beginning to think that S was the WRONG letter to choose to teach. It's a good thing no one here has a fear of snakes.

Jorem jumped at Thrash's shout and knocked a pile of papers off the
table. He muttered a minute as he picked them up, and then stood and
looked at the creature.

"Another letter you can learn is 'S' for speaking 'softly,'" he said.

Jerom grabbed a scrap of paper and a quill from a desk along one wall
and with a flourish, drew the letter 'S.'. Then he handed the scrap to
Thrash.

"Study that for a while, and please, no more outbursts."
