A guard opened the manor door, actually a short
reptilian creature, and the priest motioned for them
to follow him in.
"Come in, I have some papers I think you would like to
see."

Lisa enters. "I would think the first question we
need answered is what ties the various victims
together? I know, who the killers are and where they
can be found is important, but I think the first
priority is protecting the next victims just in case
knowing who they are and where they reside isn't
sufficient to apprehend them."
The priest led them to a back room and pushed open the wooden shutters
to let light inside. Two walls were lined by book shelves and in the
middle of the room was a rough wooden table and a stool.
The priest, Jerom, pulled down a small book and laid it open on the
table. Lisa read a list of names and occupations, Of the seven listed,
all but the last had a red "x" beside the name. The last name listed
was "Kalrod Lotram."
"You see," said Jerom, "Each one of these people has angered the group
and has been killed one by one. This last poor man, the pharmacist
you're investigating, made them angry when he refused to sell a certain
type of potion. I don't know what it was they were after, but he did,
and it was apparently too dangerous for him to be alive knowing what he
did. So they killed him."
"And I'm supposed to be the one to keep their agents concealed while
they work -- Heca have mercy on me -- but I couldn't take it any longer.
And I guess, subconsciously, I sabotaged it this time. Anyway, you
found me out and here we are."
"Thrash, bring some stools from the dinner room. I have a feeling we'll
be here a while."
Thrash dutifully brings a couple pairs of stools, though it looks a
little odd to see him hoist things as large as he is. He settles down
curiously to watch the reading. Suddenly he bellows "A T! That a T!!!!
Mage boss teach Thrash to read, so Thrash know a T!. Mage boss tell
Thrash it important to read, so Thrash learn!"
Thrash looks inordinately proud of himself, swaggering around the table
and looking for more Ts, occassionally muttering a "Hah" as he
discovers more Ts.
